FW: Bioinformatician postdoc position in Karolinska Institute

To whom it might concern,

We are currently advertising to recruit a research bioinformatician in Professor Sten Eirik Jacobsen’s research group at the Karolinska Institute.

We would be very grateful if you would bring this to the attention of anyone in your graduate program that could be interested. The position has been advertised at https://ki.mynetworkglobal.com/en/what:job/jobID:131640/ with a deadline of February 12th.

Prof. Sten Eirik Jacobsen’s Lab research focus is on cellular and molecular pathways governing the earliest fate decisions in normal hematopoiesis (Luis et al, Nat Immuol, 2016; Drissen et al, Nat Immunol, 2016; Böiers et al, Cell Stem Cell, 2013; Sanjuan-Pla et al, Nature, 2013) and how these are dysregulated in hematologic malignancies (Tehranchi et al, New Engl J Med, 2010; Woll et al, Cancer Cell, 2014). This is studied in mouse models, as well as in relevant patients. Key technologies applied towards these research questions include flow cytometry, mouse genetics, high-throughput DNA and RNA sequencing including single cell analysis, and various in vitro and in vivo stem cell assays including single cell transplantations. Part of the research will be performed at the new Center of Hematology and Regenerative Medicine (HERM; http://ki.se/en/medh/herm), and in part at the Department of Cellular and Molecular Biology (CMB; http://ki.se/en/cmb/startpage), the home of DBRM (Center in Developmental Biology for Regenerative Medicine), a world-leading research center in developmental and stem cell biology (http://www.dbrm.se).

From our side the expectations are the following for such a position:

  • a strong training in computational biology and programming
  • proven skills in advanced statistics/probability and machine learning
  • highly motivated, ambitious, effective and interactive candidate capable of leading and bringing to fruition a challenging research project of high impact
  • an ability to stay on top of the relevant research field

If you or a candidate you would like to recommend wants to know more details, do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you and very best wishes,

Sten Eirik
