November 25 at Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Airport, Gardermoen
At the start of EUs Horizon 2020 program, the conference points to several new directions in international neuroscience research. These include the use of computational tools and large-scale neural network simulations, the increasing emphasis on astrocytes for understanding brain function, and the challenges of dealing with the large amount of data that is currently amassed both in basic and clinical neuroscience.
Opening speech: To be announced
Key note lectures:
Henry Markram, EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland; Director of Blue Brain Project and the EU Human Brain Project «A reconstruction of the neocortical microcircuit: Results from the Blue Brain Project»
Maiken Nedergaard, Center of Translational Neuromedicine, University of Rochester, USA «The night life of astrocytes»
Donald Stuss, Rotman Research Institute; University of Toronto, Canada «Big Data in Neuroscience: Challenges and Methods in Ensuring Value and Success – the Ontario Brain Institute System»
