Title: Drug discovery in the flatlands
It is my pleasure to announce a new seminar in the MBI/CBU/SARS series.
Next week’s speaker is Chandra VERMA from the A*STAR Bioinformatics Institute in Singapore: (http://web.bii.a-star.edu.sg/~chandra/)
Abstract:
Computational modelling has now come of age and is rapidly emerging as an essential component of the molecular biology toolkit. A major exciting new development has been the exploration of inhibition of protein:protein interactions, traditionally an impenetrable area in drug discovery. Inspired by recent developments in this area we will discuss how a novel set of home grown p53-activating molecules are proving to be new reagents for the exploration of molecular/cellular biology and appear to hold promise as novel therapeutics.
Please note that Chandra will be available for discussions after (and possibly before) the seminar. Please let me know if /when you would like to have a chat with him and I’ll book a slot in his schedule.
Welcome!
