Kirp er blant annet professor ved University of California, Berkeley, er medlem av The National Academy of Education og fast spaltist i The New York Times. Han var medlem av Obamas “transition team” og er rådgiver i Clintons valgkamp.

Among other things Kirp is a Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, a member of the National Academy of Education and a columnist with the New York Times. In addition, he was a member of Obama’s transition team and is an informal adviser to the Clinton campaign.
